Remarks 'I saw the Doctor, his opinion is that, as far as climate etc. is concerned, home was just as good as USA but because of "T(ucker)'s temperament he believed California would be better...I doubt very much whether the man himself really seriously wants to remain in the Society...' Includes information on a ‘penal law Altar preserved in a house at Causeway with vestments and altar furniture, all ready for Mass…in a concealed hollow in wall of bedroom of house once occupied by a Fr Neilan.’

– letter from Mrs Helen Sheil, Leonard's mother to ‘Father Rector’ describing Leonard’s education and state of health. Remarks ‘I hope…that you will not discourage him – his whole heart is set on things spiritual & I know that he has it in him to do great things for God. He is so shy that he will perhaps have difficulty in speaking to you…’ (6 August 1920, 2pp) and
– letters from Mrs Sheil to Irish Fr Provincial on financial matters, following his acceptance of her son into the Society, (28 August - 4 October 1920, 3 items).

Includes photographs of Frs Edward Bourke, Gerald Kennedy and George Byrne, Mr Richard Harris, Mr John Moran, Wah Yan College, the graves of Frs Saul and McCullough.

A file of correspondence between Fr Eddie Bourke SJ, Wah Yan College, Hong Kong and Bishop Valtorta concerning the issuing of an order that the Irish Jesuit Fathers are to wear a soutane in public. Fr Bourke's letters urge the Bishop to reconsider. Outlines his reasons for this request (1946). Question already arose in 1935.
