Letter from Fr Edward Kelly SJ, Rector, Clongowes Wood College SJ to Irish Fr Provincial James Tuite SJ concerning the financial difficulties of Clongowes Wood College SJ. Remarks 'Our condition is deplorable and we are really at a stand still. We are in want of everything.' Describes the situation and asks for help from the Province. Concludes '…the necessity for raising some money £1,000 at all events is most urgent and cannot be escaped without great loss to the college…' (Fr Kelly was a Provincial Consultor of longstanding at this time).

Letter from Fr Edward Kelly, SJ, Rector, Clongowes Wood College SJ, written from Belvedere College SJ, to Irish Fr Provincial James Tuite SJ concerning the financial difficulties of Clongowes. Expresses his extreme disappointment that the loan is not forthcoming despite two consultations and permission granted by Fr General Peter Beckx. Remarks that he cannot understand why Fr John Grene SJ has interfered in the matter (Fr Kelly was a Provincial Consultor of longstanding at this time; Fr John Grene was the Province Procurator at this time).
